Pack 983 Flag Ceremony

Opening

The Cub Scout announcer takes his place on stage facing the audience, and the color guards with the Pack 983 (on the color guards' left) and the U.S. Flag (on the color guards' right) stand at the back of the room. The anouncer says the following:

  1. "Will the audience please rise."
  2. "Hand salute. Color guard, please advance."
    (Pause to let color guard reach the stage and pivot as a unit so that they face the audience with the U.S. Flag on the speaker's right.)
  3. "Color guard, post the colors."
    (Pause while Flags are posted.)
  4. "Please join me in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance."
    (Recite Pledge of Allegiance)
  5. "Two."
  6. "Color guard, dismissed."

Note: On stage, the U.S. flag should be to the speaker's right (the audience's left).

Closing

The Cub Scout announcer again takes his place on stage, and the color guards are at the back of the room. The announcer says:

  1. "Will the audience please rise."
  2. (Optional) "Cub Scouts, please give the Cub Scout sign and join me in reciting the Cub Scout Promise:

    I , [name], promise to do my best to do my duty to God and my country, to help other people, and to obey the Law of the Pack.

  3. "Color guard, please advance."
    (Pause while color guard advances)
  4. "Hand salute. Color guard, retire the colors."
    (Pause until color guard reaches back of room.)
  5. "Two."
